Family Activity Uses Halloween Memories to Improve Learning Skills
November 1st, 2013A Family Activity That Keeps Your Halloween Memories and Improves Learning Skills and Writing Skills
If your Halloween was anything like ours, your whole family had a GREAT time, and you have a lot of wonderful memories. One thing to do can to save those recent memories is to capture them in a paragraph.
Learning Skills: How to Write a Paragraph Easily
Use the structure of step-by-step instructions to help your kids learn to write a paragraph. You can think in terms of a hamburger or sandwhich. The top of the bun is the main idea…what the paragraph is about. The ingredients (hamburger, lettuce, tomato, & cheese), are the details, and the bottom of the bun restates the topic or concludes the paragraph.
Family Activity:
An easy way to capture your family activity is to write one paragraph about your Halloween experience (costumes, Trick or Treating, the Halloween party, etc.). You might even include photos you’ve taken and compile it into a family scrapbook.
* Think about what your favorite part of Halloween was.
* Or, what was the funniest or scariest costume you saw on Halloween?
